ASACA produced “Arab Detroit”, a 30-minute TV program which aired on Detroit Public Television for the first time in January of 2010. The program explores all aspects of the local Arab American community. The show premiered at the banquet. The attending guests were the first to view “Arab Detroit”.
The Arab American community is a vital and thriving community. The stories told are often quite different from those that are seen on the local news in short bursts. Too often negative stereotypes send misleading and inaccurate images about Arab Americans and Muslims in the media. ASACA is proud to produce this TV Special which fulfills our mission of education and culture.
Detroit Public Television is the viewer-supported PBS member station serving the nation’s 11th largest television market.
